Becoming a Community Builder
High River was selected as a Lighthouse Community in 2014 as part of the province-wide Becoming a Communtiy Builder initiative. The project's mandate is to grow community leadership capacity throughout rural Alberta.
Michelle Toombs, Marigold CEO, noted: "Excellent leadership is essential to Marigold Library System. From our headquarters staff to our local boards and member libraries, leadership is required at every level to provide important library services to our communities. Of course, being part of strong communities is also essential - strong community advocates contribute to the success of our member libraries." Marigold was one of the proud sponsors of the Becoming a Community Builder initiative in Strathmore and Wheatland County in 2013.
