Creative Imagination Evening

Make two projects in one evening while socializing with friends. Have a party while you paint, dye, felt or bead. Different activities offered each evening.

Family Literacy Day

Take the province-wide Read for 15 Challenge! On January 27, read ANYTHING for 15 minutes – a book, Facebook, an instruction manual, etc. Let us know by calling or emailing the library or tagging us in your social media with #Readfor15. Play Literacy BINGO with your family and win improved readers, family fun and cool prizes. Return your completed BINGO card to the library and enter the draw.

Candelaria

The festival of the Virgen de la Candelaria is celebrated on February 2. Throughout Mexico on this day people dress up figures of the Christ child and take him to the church to be blessed, as well as getting together with family and friends to eat tamales. Join Liz Vigueras to celebrate this special day Mexican style.

Get Reel Concert

Get your toes tapping with lively Celtic and down east music from Get Reel. Enjoy an evening of entertainment with this ever popular band who will have you dancing.

Earth Day

Celebrate Earth Day, ‘Trees for Life’ by joining this nature scavenger hunt. Trees help communities by combating climate change, absorbing odour and in many more ways. Clues will be available Tuesday, April 11. Return them to the library by Saturday, April 22 to honour Earth Day.

Art Shows

Show your work to the community by signing up for a month to display it. The library has showcased public art since 1982 when it first opened and has hosted all types of artists; from children, to hobbyists, to professionals. Share your passion.
