High River Library opens up your world by providing resources, technology, and spaces to support lifelong learning, literacy, and strong community connections.
As members of the Marigold Library System and part of the provincial library network we are able to provide access to over 21 million books, CDs, DVDs, eBooks and other materials. We love feedback so let us know if there's something you'd like to see or do at the library!
- We had 38,964 visits to the library in 2020. This is lower than previous years (74,341 visits in 2019) due the pandemic.
- Almost 25,000 items in our local collection
33,344 public wifi sessions in 2020
6,337 adults, teens, and children developed their skills, worked on their literacy, or simply had fun at library programs in 2020. That's 19.6% more than in 2019!
- More than 30% of High Riverites have a library card
87,353 items circulated to High Riverites in 2020--a value of over $1.3 million to community members. The building was open to the public for a third fewer hours in 2020 due to the pandemic, but circulation only dipped by 11.6%.
