Gadgets to Go

Books aren't the only thing you can borrow! Whether you want to capture your next adventure, cook and prepare a brand new dish, or work on an ambitious DIY project, we've got you covered. Scroll down to see the items in our collection.

To place a hold on an item through the library's website, enter Gadgets to Go in the search bar or click this link to reach the online catalogue. 

Once you find the item you want, click the Place Request button beside the description (example circled in red below).

You'll need your library card bar code to log on to TRAC and place a hold. Enter it without any spaces. Your password is typically the last 4 digits of your phone number.

Gadgets to Go items can only be picked up from and dropped off at the High River Library. They cannot be shipped to other libraries.

Apple Peeler

This ingenious hand-cranked device will peel, core and slice an apple in about 5 seconds. Can be used for potatoes too. Place a hold.

Bluetooth Speaker (Small)

Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM portable speaker. Height 102mm, diameter 93.5mm. Can connect wirelessly to other devices via bluetooth. Place a hold.

Peachtree Audio deepblue2 Bluetooth speaker. Can connect wirelessly to other devices via bluetooth. Can also connect via 3.5mm jack and RCA cables. Place a hold.

Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex Family Pass

A family pass for the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex in High River. Grants you access to all Rec-Plex facilities. Place a hold.

CO2 Monitors

The Aranet4 CO2 monitor checks your indoor air quality for CO2, relative humidity, temperature, and atmospheric pressure. You can read the device screen or connect it via app to your phone for continuous feedback. Place a hold.

High indoor CO2 levels can cause tiredness, headaches and other symptoms. Increasing CO2 levels show you that the space is not well ventilated. Using a CO2 monitor helps to identify three kinds of risk:

  • the negative effects of CO2 exposure
  • the potential for pollutants to accumulate
  • the risk of of respiratory particles and viruses.

BlueDriver Pro Vehicle Code Reader (OBD II Scanner)

The BlueDriver Pro Scan Tool can read Check Engine Light codes, and provide code definitions and possible fixes on all vehicles made in the US or Canada since 1996. Simply plug the sensor into your car and read the codes on the BlueDriver app on your phone or tablet. Place a hold.

Scotch thermal laminator. Laminates items up to 9 inches wide. Will laminate pouches up to 5 ml thick. Pouches available for purchase from library. Place a hold.

LED Light Therapy Lamp

The HappyLight® Luxe light therapy lamp by Verilux features adjustable color, temperature and a countdown timer. Place a hold.

Microscope

AmScope WF25X microscope. Used for viewing slides. Includes 25x eyepiece, eyepiece camera, prepared microscope slides, The World of the Microscope book, and other accessories. The full checklist can be found with the microscope. Place a hold.

KitchenAid Stand Mixer

KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer. Used to help prepare a variety of food products. Comes with a metal bowl, standard mixing attachments, and a guard for the bowl. Separate attachments are also available (see next item). Place a hold.

Grinder, Slicer & Shredder Attachments

Additional attachments for the KitchenAid Stand Mixer. Place a hold grinder attachments or shredder attachments.

Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch game console. Can be played both handheld and on the TV. Comes with detachable red and blue joycons, a joycon grip, and a TV dock. Provide your own games - games can be temporarily shipped in from other libraries to borrow for a set time. Place a hold.

Projector

BenQ HT2050A home cinema digital projector. Can connect to computers to display the screen against a large wall or backdrop. Supports resolutions up to 1080p. Place a hold.

Rock Tumbler

Lortone Rotary Tumbler, model 3A. Thoroughly tumbles and polishes rocks to reveal semi-precious gemstones. The rock tumbling process may take several days to complete. Place a hold.

Serger

Bernina 1150MDA serger with micro thread control. Primarily used for edging, hemming, and seaming a variety of fabrics.

Comes with thread stand, thread catcher, four (4) thread cone holders, four (4) thread tops, two (2) thread nets, oil, two (2) screwdrivers, and three (3) feet. Place a hold.

Sewing Machine

Bernina B 350 Special Edition sewing machine. Used to sew fabric and materials together.

One (1) Winter Walker brand snowshoes available (for kids) - 16". Comes with adjustable poles. Place a hold.

Solar Charger

BigBlue 28W solar panel charger is equipped with an accessory socket with 3 USB output ports, capable of charging most devices, including cell phones and tablets. Place a hold.

Staple Gun

MasterCraft staple gun. Can be used for DIY projects/home use. Place a hold.

Telescope

Celestron Sky Prodigy 6 electric telescope. It can electronically locate different objects in the sky when calibrated properly. Comes with optical tube, fork arm, tripod, computerized hand control, hand control holder, star diagonal, two (2) eyepieces, StarPointer finderscope, accessory tray, and battery holder. Vacuum Sealer

VS-12 deluxe vacuum sealer. Vacuum seals food or other items for airtight storage. 8" x 12" bags available for purchase from the library or provide your own. Place a hold.

Vitamix Blender

Vitamix A2500 Ascent Series blender. Comes with a motor base, S2 low-profile tamper, 64 oz container, and a Simply Blending recipe book. Place a hold.

Walking Poles (14)

Keenfit adjustable walking poles. Can extend up to a total of 140cm. Fourteen pairs are available. Additional/spare attachments are also available. Place a hold.
