The most rewarding part of planned giving is its enduring impact on your community for generations to come. Libraries are meaningful to so many people. We snuggle up in a corner with a storybook as children and find friendship and inspiration as adults.
There are several types of planned giving that can benefit you (or your estate) and the library. These include:
- Giving a gift in your will
- Donating life insurance
- Donating securities
We recommend speaking with your financial advisor or lawyer if you are considering making a planned gift. The library's charitable registration number is 130491129 RR 0001 (The Town of High River Library).
A gift made in the name of someone you care about is a meaningful way to celebrate a special occasion or to remember a beloved family member, respected friend, or colleague. You can give online, in-person, or mail a cheque to the library.

Let us know how you'd like your name to appear for donor recognition or if you'd prefer to remain anonymous. If you'd like the gift to be in honour of someone special, we're happy to mail a card to that person or their family.
Monthly gifts allow to you give according to your ability and are a convenient way to support the library. Your gift helps us continue to offer free programs to children, teens, and adults in High River.
Make your business more visible to library patrons and offer a benefit to library cardholders by becoming one of our monthly business partners.
Your business can also get involved by sponsoring a program, funding a special project such as purchasing new technology, or enhancing services for seniors, or by developing your own in-store campaign allowing customers to support the library with money they are spending at your business. Give back to your community and plan your own fundraising event for a special occasion. You can give to the library with an in-person fundraising event or an online fundraiser through Facebook, Canada Helps or another platform. Feel free to get in touch with your ideas.
